Actually it was a pretty boring week to say the least. I think i finally had an 8 hour work day which are few and far between. Usually my days are about 3 hours unfortunately. But the bills are getting paid so all is not lost.
As a Denver locksmith its hard to stay away from having to travel through downtown Denver and the more i do the more i am reminded or California traffic. On the bright side i still have the wonderful weather and the awesome views of the Rocky mountains. For those who know where Corona, Ca is, much of Colorado is set up the same way save a few other cities who remind me of being in Big Bear and Downtown Denver which feels like L.A.
I havnt have any interesting jobs lately but i do wonder how someone can lose their keys at home and never find them and someone else loses their keys at a park and finds them five minutes after i leave to go help them. Another thing ive noticed is that wealthy people seem to get the best prices from me. Here i think im low balling a price and i get to their house and its this big mansion!
STORY: I had a heart attack the other day when i got home from doing a couple jobs and realized that my ipad was not in my van! I searched throughout my entire van and it was now where to be found. I texted the customer whose home i thought i left it at and then remembered that i left it in the last car that i made a key for. Unfortunately it was after midnight when i realized this and could not call the person until the next day. When i talked to them they told me the same thing. They didnt call me because it was to late when they realized that it was mine. I wonder if they would have kept it a secret if they had known that there was an ipad hidden in my note pad folder?
ADVISE: 99% of the time you get what you pay for. There is lots of ads here in Colorado for $15 service calls and lockouts. What you get? A guy who shows up an hour later looks at your situation and says your car or lock is special and its going to be $300 more! Don't get scammed, get a quote over the phone and stick with it. Call the police if you feel threatened.
NEWS: Weather has been great! The new Wii U is coming out and hopefully an iphone 5 worth buying and Apple is building a spaceship!
Until next time!

Heres me in a nut shell!
So today i decided to start blogging about me and my company (All American lock & key) and any other interesting locksmith related stories and/or news. The first reason being is that as a locksmith and not just a Denver locksmith but many cities in colorado, i can come across some very interesting people and events from time to time. Of course all names will be changed to protect the innocent (that being me!).
Its kind of interesting if you think about it. Before i was a locksmith or knew a locksmith i never even thought about the existence of a locksmith, meaning its as if i never knew they existed. I dont know why that suprises me but it does.
A little background on me and my company: All American lock and key was started in July of 2010 which is the same month me and my wife moved from California to Colorado. I worked as a locksmith for a little over a year in California for another company and as part of my agreement to be trained there i could not open my business in competing territory. Colorado was chosen as our new home mostly because we had friends there, it was nice, and far away. Before locksmithing i was in construction, before construction i was in education and before education was odds and ends.
All American lock and key is a denver locksmith company that covers vehicle, residential and commercial services such as lockouts, rekeys, transponder keys and lock installation/repair. If i had to pick a specific area of expertise i would have to say that we specialize in car replacement keys. Whether the keys are lost, stolen, broken or just need to be duplicated, we can make replacement keys for most vehicles on the road today.
As long as this blog exists i will continue to post new stories of my day to day dealings with the great people of Colorado and even drum up some past stories as i come to recollect them. I will try to have at least one piece of advice for the non locksmith and locksmith alike, a story and something news worthy if there happens to be anything. Locksmithing is kind of dull when it comes to breaking news. None of us going postal or anything like that.
ADVISE: Make sure you have the number of a reputable local locksmith company saved in your contacts when the day comes that you need locksmiths services. Why? because when that day comes and you dont have a number on hand, odds are when you go to search for one on your phone or computer you will pick the first company you see because you are in emergency mode and just want to get the job done. Most likely the company you ended up picking is a company who keyword spammed the heck out of google or paid alot for a pay per click ad that says "LOCKSMITH $12" and when they get to you all of a sudden your job is special and will cost you more money.
STORY: Not locksmith related but within a month or two of moving to colorado a guy solicited sex to me in front of a goodwill store! I have to admit i was taken aback just a smidge.
NEWS: Nothing interesting to report except that it was cold then warm today and by the end of the afternoon it was hailing. Thats Colorado for you!
Until next time!
